I'm old enough to remember the Betamax/VHS battle. Fortunately, I ended up on the VHS side, but I remember plenty of people who didn't! Some of them even owned a laser disk player. Anyone remeber them?

Actually this battle looks very similar. Sony's is the more expensive but superior product, just as it was in the form of Betamax.
