I've got a Dodge Neon, 2 years old an no problems. I wouldn't have minded a Japanese car, but I like the style of the Neon better and it was about $3,000 less than a comparable Japanese model.

Toyota all the way if you want a car that won't fall apart in 5 years.

I have a 2006 Buick LaCross...........due to it's gas mileage, I'll never buy another American car.

1 Germany is too expensive and stuck up 2 Japan is cheap and has weak engines 3 Sweden isn't really a competitor 4 US is the roots of the automible industry and knows how to make awesome cars 5 Italy is too expensive and doesn't make any main stream cars

U.S. cars are very good. I drive a pontiac firebird and it's engine is very nice and I have only had to perform some minor repairs. My older brother drives a Firebird as well and is just as happy as with it, in fact he plans to keep his dream car until it is no longer within his finacial means to keep it drivable. My Father drives a Chevy Silverado and is happy with it. My Mother drives a Buick Lasaber custom and is very happy with it.

I had a very pleasant experience with Mitsubishi Lancer (mirage) did more than 100000 miles in 7 years before selling it off. Sad there is no Czech in the list. Skoda Octavia...I have seen my friend 400000 Km (with out the engine being touched) and still looking good for atleast another 100000

Buick or the late oldsmobile. My 99 Buick Regal has 147k on it only non maintance part replaced is the starter. The 3.8L V6 that they still use in new cars has been around since 1978 its called the veteran and i see why too. 29 mpg hwy and can still get up and go from a red light. My dad has a 89 olds with 256k all original and still drives it everyday.

Even if Japan makes cars that are a tiny bit more reliable than Europe, they are boring knock offs of American junk that can't take a hit in a crash and are uncomfortable and no fun to own in comparison.

In the long run Japanese cars last longer obviously. Those mustangs don't stand a chance against ricers in long distant races.

Jap makes the best cars hands down. Got a 14 year old Mazda thats still kickin' without any mechanical problemsthat still gets 32 MPG. They go for solid, smaller and more efficient engines that I bet everyone wishes they had at times like these.
